RESEARCH PROJECT 01 - Quality of Life for Arab American Children & Adolescents with Intellectual Disabilities
Our current research project aims to study the quality of life in Arab American children and adolescents with intellectual disabilities compared to their non-disabled peers. We are conducting this study through the distribution of a IRB validated survey to parents and caregivers of students in the metro Detroit area. With the data we collect, we hope to raise awareness about the challenges students with disabilities may be facing in school. We also plan to share this data with administrators and work together to determine actionable next steps that can be taken to ensure necessary accommodations are provided for all students with disabilities so that they can have the same opportunities as their peers.
Our first research project is now live! This survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and all responses are anonymous. In order to be eligible, you must be a parent/caregiver of a child and/or adolescent between the ages of 5-17 with an intellectual disability. We would greatly appreciate your support in our goal of improving the lives of those with disabilities. The survey is available in English and Arabic.
